If you are considering buying an adult dog then contact the Kennel Club for advice before you make your decision. If it s a dog they will tell you if he has sired any litters. If a bitch they will tell you how many litters she has had and when. All you need is a Kennel Club name. Many times there is a reason why people let adult dogs go and you may never find out until you get the dog home. If you have small children then you may be placing them at risk. Getting an adult is in some ways a bigger decision than getting a puppy. |

Please be care ful where you get your puppy from. There are many good breeders but also many bad. You need to feel comfortable with the breeders as much as the puppy because you may need to go back for advice. Some breeders will not give you the time of day once they have your money. Do some research (internet and Kennel Club) on where you get the puppy from before you make what will be a very important decision.

It seems that more and more people are being drawn into scams by people advertising puppies and asking for money to be wired or placed into a bank account before the purchaser has seen the puppies. Please do not be conned by this. If you are not 100% certain that the seller is genuine do not send any money. Ask the seller for some details as to their location and make some enquiries on the internet. Check with other breeders. Respectable breeders will send you images of the litter as the puppies grow and they will not take a deposit until you have picked your puppy. |

Just a few tips on buying a puppy. Always see the mother Always see the whole of the remaining litter and ask to see where they are kept. Be early for your appointment. Unless 100% sure the litter is genuine do NOT send a deposit through the post. Be wary if the seller takes credit card or Paypal. If in doubt dont do it.
